Microsoft, "Sound Design as Sensory Design"

"For many years now, the visual design world has been reducing clutter and using more space. Now sound is starting doing the same."

Matthew Bennett is an audio creative director at Microsoft, and he lives up to his title. He perks up with excitement when he talks about sound and its connection to language, senses, and emotional cues. Microsoft approached Hey, to create a video accompaniment to Bennett’s presentation in Tel Aviv about his work and the idea that “Sound is Touch”.

“The video reverberated through the hall,” Bennett later told us. “It literally touched everyone watching.” The video was also included in Bennett’s Medium article that expanded on the idea.
